Cuba 1888 - EDIFIL 11a (11ca?)
The 2c. de peso postal card of 1882 used in 1883 to Boston, Massachusetts, USA. This is the much more scarce dark rose variety (rather than carmine) that looks almost exactly the same as the color of the 3c de peso card of the same issue. (Wouldn't be surprised if this is an unreported error of color) But there is more to this card. This card also shows a broken second "A" of Ultramar that is not listed by EDIFIL for the 2c. value. (The 3c. value with this variety is listed as 12ca for a normal carmine card). Stamped in transit on reverse with a perfect "NEW YORK Oct. 1 (83) C - PAID ALL" spectacle handstamp and on front with circular "10-2-83 8A" on arrival at Boston. A couple of very light vertical folds, but in great shape overall. A RARE, UNREPORTED VARIETY.
