2 centavos carmine on buff, 140x265mm, watermarked "US POD 99" newspaper wrapper used in 1900 to Langensalza, Germany. Indicium cancelled with HAVANA CUBA - REC'D - Dec. 23, 1900 cds applied in black. In outstanding condition; no tears or loss of paper whatsoever. This is an extremely rare item in used condition, of which we have seen only three in many, many years. EDIFIL prices it at € 80,- ($ US 112.00). In our opinion, this price is not in line with the extreme scarcity of this item.
